The World's
Biggest Diamond Ring.
The largest diamond
ring possible would have to start with the World's largest cut
diamond. According to Guinness World Records, "The world's
largest
cut diamond is an unnamed Fancy Black, containing small red diamond
crystals. It weighs 555.55 carats and was polished into 55 facets over
several years and completed in June 2004." The repetitive use of the
number five is culturally significant to Muslims. It was commissioned
by Ran Gorenstein of Belgium. The "Fancy Black" diamond, about
the size of a small potato, fits in the palm of your hand. One
could make a ring from this but it would not be comfortable to wear.
555.55 carats = 111.11 grams
