For best results, take Viagra about one hour before having sex. It starts working 10 to 40 minutes after taking a 25 to 100 mg dose, and can work for up to four hours after you take it. Viagra works faster when you take it on an empty stomach. It may take longer to work if you take it after eating a high-fat meal. Simply taking a Viagra pill won't cause an erection: You must also have sexual stimulation. When the sexual experience is over, the erection goes away. Viagra won't help you delay ejaculation.
