Reviewed May 7, 2013: Plasma TVs have better
image quality and a wider viewing angle than LED or LCD HDTVs but they
don't work well in many, bright rooms. While much more energy efficient
than in the post, plasma sets still consume more energy and they are heavier.
Bottom Line: My brother picked Consumer Report's (CR) number two ranked, "Best Buy" 55-59 inch Panasonic TC-P55ST60 
plasma TV with two pair of 3D glasses over the #1 ranked Panasonic TC-P55VT60 because he didn't need all the extra features and he only had room for 55".

which is the newest version of Consumer Reports top rated LCD set with
Built-in Wi-Fi and Camera plus "Ultimate Micdo Dimming" for the best
picture qualtiy:
), so I knew this
would be as good or better. Consumers and others said the time to buy was
after the Super Bowl, as the old models get closed out, but actually it was
the opposite - it went higher, then almost disappeared. So I waited until
the 2013 came out in April - good to get the newest model (lower than the
2012 version was in March too)...I figure the 3D could be fun, but I
wouldn't be bummed it we rarely use it - free glasses is a nice feature that
wasn't included last year.
